Thanks to a group of Ignatian Spiritual Directors who have provided these texts for reflecting with in prayer during the season of Lent – the time of preparation for the Mystery of Easter. The attached document gives instructions for using the texts.
Centering Prayer
Thanks to our friends at Contemplative Outreach, we have permission to share this video introducing the method and purpose of Centering Prayer, with its originator, Fr. Thomas Keating. For more information about Centering Prayer, please visit the Contemplative Outreach website.
– Meeting opens at 3:45pm
– Brief greeting and await in silence, cameras on and mic muted
– Meeting begins at 4:00pm with a brief preparation for prayer by our leader
– 3 bells indicates the beginning of 20 minutes of silence
– 20 minutes of silence
– 3 bells indicates the end of our 20 minutes
– 1 minute to “return”
– 1 bell to rejoin the group for a time to share our experience and ask questions
– Meeting ends with a prayer of thanksgiving and concerns followed by the Lord’s Prayer
– Meeting closed with 3 sacred bows
