For this first Sunday after Easter, Gabrielle opens up the story of “Doubting Thomas” as found in John 20:19-31. She draws the connection between the community of Jesus’ disciples on Easter evening, and us, now, in a chaotic world. When they were fearful, the Risen Christ breathed and spoke peace to them.

She also walks us through what we don’t know about Thomas, as well as what we do know… that Thomas (wherever he was when the others saw the Risen Christ) came back.

And Jesus honoured the questions Thomas brought with him. How can we, in that same Spirit of Jesus Christ, create safe spaces for people now to ask their questions, bring their wonderings, and deepen our relationship with him?
