The core of all ministry is authentic relationship.
Crossroads accepts youth as called and gifted people within the life of the congregation. We provide the same opportunities for youth that we do for adults to explore their Spirit-given gifts, offer their ministries, and find a “spiritual home” at Crossroads.
Sunday Morning Youth Program
The experience of the Covid-19 pandemic really impacted Crossroads’ Sunday morning youth program. We are rebuilding our Youth Ministry currently and hope to launch a new Sunday morning youth gathering in the fall of 2024. Keep your eye on this space for updates.
Youth in Service at Crossroads
Crossroads youth and young adults have been involved in:
- playing in the worship band
- singing in choirs led by Dr. Bruce Harding
- serving as “Leaders-in-Training” at our Kidventure Ministry as they inspire the children who attend with their loving presence
- serving at the Community Dinners
- offering service and leadership in the Healing Garden ministry
- offering technology ministry
- participating in the congregation’s ministry teams as they grow in faith and deepen in discipleship
Fun Together
Our youth gather regularly for social events as well as participating in the occasional retreat with the wider United Church community.
We are committed to the spiritual nurture of our youth, and appreciate the work of our Youth Ministry Coordinator, Nia Bentayen, as she teams with adult volunteers in this endeavour. Each of our Children & Youth Ministry leaders have a current criminal record check on file.
Youth Leaders in Training at Kidventure
Youth (ages 13–18) are welcome to volunteer as a KIDVENTURE Leader In Training (LIT) where they receive mentorship and valuable experience.
In 2024, KIDVENTURE will take place from 8:30 a.m. to noon from July 8–12.
