This fourth “Stump the Preacher” sermon is focused on the story behind Nehemiah 8 and the “advice” in II Timothy 3:14-4:4. The sermon is in response to a request from a congregation member after the Bible Study the Affirm team hosted in the spring of 2016. The requester said, “I know my Mom believes that every word is the gospel. As a teenager, thinking about this, I could not understand how every word translated was and is absolute.”
