Mystical Hope

Mystical Hope

Categories:

Today was Mama’s Day at Crossroads – a week later than usual, but we focussed in our worship time on the two decade relationship between our church and the Mama Orphans Children’s Home in Busia, Kenya.

Rev. Cari preached a short sermon on John 14:15-21 to leave lots of time for the testimony and storytelling that was scheduled to be shared later in the service. The focus of her sermon was on the kind of hope that is grounded in “abiding” in God – the very thing that this passage opens up.

Though today we focussed on that hope as the basis for Mama’s ministry in Busia, and our relationship with her, it is also a current that is very much needed in our world as we continue to make our way through the COVID-19 pandemic.

Listen to this short reflection on hope, and the letter Rev. Cari shares from Betty Oduor (Mama’s daughter in Busia), for Mama’s Day.
