Holy Shift: Shifting Expectations

Holy Shift: Shifting Expectations

Categories:

Rev. Cari preached on the resurrection story as found in Luke 24:1-12. Luke’s unique contribution to the proclamation of Easter is the question in the mouths of the angelic dazzlers: “Why do you look for the living among the dead?”

Rev. Cari opens with references to both the fire at the Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris, and the tragic terror in Sri Lanka on Easter morning. She compares the “business-as-usual” world in which we live to the surprising shift of Easter morning toward God’s vision of wholeness, peace and justice.

What if Easter Sunday is only the beginning? What if we can actually  expect God’s presence and participation in healing our world?
