For the fourth Sunday in Creation Time (and World Wide Communion Sunday), Rev. Cari preached on the Ten Commandments as found at Exodus 20:1-20. Cari opened up the whole setting of the giving of the Law, in her sermon, focussing on the sights and sounds of the story as the people of Israel prepare to be in the full presence of their God.

She invited the congregation to slow down and really ponder what it would feel like to know oneself in the presence of the Holy One… and then she offered a reflection on God’s name, the commandments, and the response of the people.

After all, it’s the response of the people that God is still seeking!
