For Sunday, May 1, Rev. Cari preached on Matthew 25:31-46, the story of the sheep and the goats at the moment of judgment. This is not typically an Easter season text! But there’s a good reason she chose it.

Crossroads is participating in a capital campaign to support the redevelopment of First United Community Ministry Society in the Downtown Eastside of Vancouver. Today was the launch of that campaign at Crossroads.

First’s ministry has everything to do with the actions named in this text. For over 135 years, First United has provided healing and hope to all who struggle. Now, the plan is to rebuild not just the physical plant, but also the ministry and relationships. This project has everything to do with Reconciliation.
