There is no evidence that Israel ever practiced the guidelines regarding the sabbatical year and the jubilee year… But this articulation of the limits on human consumption of the land can still fire our imaginations. We can use God’s boundaries to create some healthy boundaries for ourselves as we discover how to “live with respect in creation.”
