Rev. Cari’s sermon for the third Sunday in Advent was on the Gospel lesson for the day – Matthew 11:2-11 – a less-often focussed on text about John the Baptist.
 
In the sermon, she references the work of John Dominic Crossan, a biblical scholar whose material on violence in the Bible a small group of Crossroads folks just finished studying.
 
She also ends the sermon by reading part of “A Blessing for the Politically Despondent” by Joel McKerrow.
