| The Policy Board is pleased to share that Rev. Sally McShane’s appointment as acting Lead Minister at Crossroads United Church has now been approved by Pacific Mountain Pastoral Relations. Rev. Sally will begin September 7, serving three-quarter time on an initial six-month appointment. Rev. Sally was ordained in 1992. Five years later she completed a Master’s in Pastoral Response and Spirituality at Emmanuel College, Toronto, seeking a deeper grounding for ministry in today’s complex communities. Her ministry since has taken her into prison cells, to Baycrest Hospital to accompany Holocaust survivors, to the Downtown Eastside to listen, and most recently to Palestine and Israel to understand hope. Now retired, she continues to write novels, engage in theological conversation with friends, and teach her grandsons about wonder. The Policy Board is confident Rev. Sally will bring administrative stability and attentive pastoral care, and will help us move forward together with energy and purpose. Please join us in welcoming her to Crossroads. |
