This is the last of our three Sundays on the conversation and prayer that John’s Gospel records Jesus having with his disciples’ Jesus prays that the disciples keep a unity amongst them – that all may be one. Its the 100th Anniversary of the Founding of the United Church of Canada whose motto is “that all may be one.” We take a quick history lesson of the UCC through its crest and reflect upon what does unity mean amongst the world’s 2.6 billion Christians and its 45000 denominations.

Major (Ret’d) the Reverend Jim Short served United Church congregations for over 40 years as well as the Canadian Armed Forces Reserve for 26 years as a chaplain. He calls himself a “fourth-quarter minister” and is honoured to be able to fill the position of Acting Lead Minister Supply until Crossroads calls a full time ordained minister to the church.
