A Dialogue for World Refugee Day

A Dialogue for World Refugee Day

Categories:

Two days before World Refugee Day, Rev. Cari invited members of our first (Syrian) family sponsored by the North Delta Refugee Project, as well as our second individual sponsored (from Uganda), to join her in conversation.

After hearing the Biblical story from Genesis 18:1-15, with its themes of hospitality and hope, the group launched right into storytelling and dialogue.

The voices you will hear in this unusually long recording belong to Kefah, the father of the Syrian family, who was an engineer in Syria; Baz, who left Uganda in his very early 20’s; Lulu, the daughter of Kefah who was in elementary school when they left their home in Homs; and Suzy, Kefah’s partner.

These speakers courageously invite us into the “holy ground” of listening to their stories with respect and appreciation. We hope this conversation inspires support for the work of the North Delta Refugee Project (NDRP).
