For the fourth Sunday in Lent, Gabrielle preached on Romans 5:1-11, a text (she says in the sermon) which, when she first read it, made her sigh.
So we can be grateful for her second look which produced such an affirming (of grace) and hopeful sermon about God’s action in our lives to mend the broken places and make things right. Gabrielle draws on Fleming Rutledge’s The Crucifixion and she shares a compelling story from her visit to Guatemala as a student preparing for Diaconal Ministry.
This sermon helps us to see that God’s puzzle of salvation includes a “fitting place” for each of us. We belong, we are loved, and we are created to be connected to one another and God.
