At December’s free community dinner at Crossroads United Church (Saturday, December 23, with doors opening at 4:30 pm) not only did guests enjoy a home-cooked turkey dinner with all the trimmings, they also received goodie bags prepared especially for them by the students of Delta’s École Élémentaire Devon Gardens Elementary.
 
The children have worked hard to decorate the goodie bags and to write a personal holiday greeting tucked inside of each one.
 
These 4th Saturday of the month free dinners are a place where all kinds of people gather to enjoy a delicious and nutritious homemade meal in a family-friendly setting. This month the guests were touched to receive a Christmas treat and a message straight from a child’s heart.
