Crossroads participates in the Vancouver solidarity Women‘s March

A group of Crossroads women joined the Women’s March held in solidarity with the march in Washington, DC, walking for the values of respect, equality and openness which characterize the Gospel and which are eroding in public discourse in these times of political change. A core group of 6 women of various generations were joined by family members at various points in the march, so that up to a dozen participants were walking behind a new Crossroads marching banner commissioned for the occasion.
Participants met many friends, co-workers and other church members along the way, seeing several United Church ministers (including the Very Rev. Gary Paterson), a Presbyterian woman minister from Wales who was joining the march, and friends of Crossroads, recently married Shane and Adam Raman-Dickson.
In a time of great political polarity and uncertainty for our neighbours in the United States, it was encouraging to gather and walk with so many committed people, to say a loud “Yes!” to a world that includes and values the full participation of all voices: women, LGBTQ folk, Indigenous peoples, immigrants, and people of colour.
