This week Rev. Cari entered into the long prophetic career of Jeremiah at another point (Jeremiah 32:1-3a, 6-15) from last week, when Jeremiah has been placed under house arrest by the ruler of Judah, Zedekiah, because of his doom and gloom message. The City of Jerusalem is under seige by the Babylonians, and sure to fall. But Jeremiah does an unlikely thing: he purchases a piece of land from his cousin at a moment when all is certainly lost.
Just what this means for him, for Israel, and for Israel’s relationship with their God is exactly what Rev. Cari is interested in. Listen to hear how she draws a parallel to our lives now, and what action is likely to prove redemptive to us in our multiple emergencies.
