Join Julia and her mentor, Vancouver jazz pianist Miles Black, along with bassist Andre Lachance and Nino DiPasquale on drums, for a fabulous musical evening at Crossroads United Church. With heart and humour, Julia (17 years old) will perform a variety of pop and R&B songs, show pieces, and even a couple of jazz standards.
Julia’s childhood nickname was “Pipes” and she continues to live up to that name. She began her vocal studies with Ann Golden Fisher, and currently sings in the studio of Alisia Lyne. She has also sung with the British Columbia Girls’ Choir for the past four years, under the direction of Fiona Blackburn. Julia made her first recording as a nine-year-old, singing her favourite songs by Miley Cyrus (or in those days, Hannah Montana). Eight years later, in the summer of 2017, she completed a demo recording with Miles Black in an effort to redeem herself. This concert has grown out of that experience with Miles.
Julia loves to sing and is very excited to have this opportunity to perform with some of Vancouver’s most talented musicians. The people of Crossroads have supported Julia’s musical development and growth as a person, and she is happy to make this contribution in support of Crossroads’ ministry in the community. She hopes to see you there!
