Crossroads United Church Searches for a Temporary Congregationally Designated Minister (CDM)

Categories: Church,News,Stories

Crossroads United Church, a vibrant intergenerational congregation in the North Delta/Surrey area, is searching for a temporary CDM for the duration of the Children and Youth Minister’s Sabbatical from August 19, 2019 to November 18, 2019. This is a 10 hours per week position, and the successful candidate will be working under the supervision and guidance of our Lead Minister, Rev. Cari Copeman-Haynes.

The successful applicant will carry out tasks in two streams of ministry at Crossroads during our C&Y Minister’s absence. Five hours each week will be dedicated to preparation for and presence in Sunday morning Children’s ministry programming. Familiarity with Godly Play is an asset. Up to twenty hours each month (likely not evenly divided into five hours/week) will be spent supporting our CREW (Care Reach Eat Wonder), Crossroads’ intergenerational service ministry.

The successful applicant will be a baptized Christian, familiar with the United Church of Canada and its ethos. Crossroads United Church is an Affirming Ministry.

Applicants are invited to submit their cover letter and resume until midnight Sunday, May 26, 2019 to search@crossroads-united-church.ca. Only electronic applications will be accepted, and all applications will receive a response indicating they have been received. Interviews will take place in early June. The successful candidate will start the week of Monday, August 19, 2019.
