Crossroads United Church is pleased to welcome Amanda Degner to the role of Children’s Programming Facilitator for Summer 2019.
Amanda was the successful candidate for the Canada Summer Jobs Grant position at Crossroads from June 24 to August 18, 2019. She is a baptized member of Crossroads whose faith has been formed by this community, and is glad to serve in this way so that other young people can know the love she has experienced and deepen in their own relationship with God.
Amanda is looking forward to working under Gabrielle’s mentorship as she supports the KidVenture ministry this summer, as well as CREW, ReSound, and other summertime ministries. She will be taking an active role in the “Blue Jean Sunday School” with the children of Crossroads through the summer, and will be honing her skills in children’s ministry. Amanda hopes to undertake the Child and Youth Care Counsellor Program at Douglas College, where she is currently pursuing general studies in Arts. This position is a valuable stepping stone toward her vocational goals as well as being an opportunity to practice her faith in community.
Amanda brings warmth, enthusiasm, and commitment to her new role at Crossroads, and we are excited to see how the gifts God has given her will be put to work in our midst!
